Assigning Grades and Attendance¶
ℹ️ To assign grades and attendance, open the Journal through filters.
Steps¶

Open the Journal. On the left, there will be a list of students in alphabetical order.

Select the required student. Enter the grade or attendance mark (A) in the appropriate cell. Use the list or keyboard.

To add a comment to the grade, click the comment icon in the cell. Write the text in the "Note" field. Select the cell color. Click "Submit". The comment will be visible to students and their parents in the Gradebook.
- The "Semester" grade is calculated automatically based on the previous grade types that have the "Include in Semester Grade Calculation?" option enabled. See the user guideline Creating Grade Types. The "Annual" grade is calculated automatically based on semester grades. If you modify any of the previous grades after the semester or annual grade has been calculated automatically, the "Semester" or "Annual" grade columns will NOT be recalculated automatically. Any changes to the final grades must be entered manually.
