Mobile Journal¶
The Mobile Journal is a working section of the application where the teacher keeps records of lessons, attendance, and students' assessment directly from a smartphone or tablet. It allows to quickly enter grades during the classes, review previous records, and perform basic class actions.
How to open the Mobile Journal¶
- Download the platform mobile app from the AppStore or Google Play Market.
- Install the app providing access to camera, microphone and notifications.
- After installing and loging into your account, tap "Journal" in the bottom menu of the application.
- A list of students of the selected section with the class dates will be displayed.
Mobile Journal filters¶
Filters are available at the top of the page:
- Dates From/To — class display period;
- Section — academic section or subsection;
- Subject — subject taught by the teacher;
Tap the "Filters" button to change parameters and refresh the section list.
Structure of the Mobile Journal page¶
The Mobile Journal page opens as an expanded list of students and consists of the following elements:
1. Student list
A list of section students is displayed. Class records by dates are shown for each student.
2. Class dates
3. Class tags
The following labels are displayed under the class date, if added:
- Topic — a topic is added to the class;
- Homework — homework is assigned;
- Online — the class has an online "join" link;
4. Class records:
- grades;
- attendance mark;
- grade type;
- grade comment;
- tag;

Class settings in the Mobile Journal¶
Adding a class topic in the Mobile Journal¶
To add a class topic in the Mobile Journal, you need to:

Tap the settings icon ⚙️ next to the class date.

Select "Agenda/topic" from the dropdown list.

Fill in the topic field.

If necessary, add a quiz as an assignment during the class.

Tap "Submit".
- After saving the topic, the "Topic" label will appear under the class date, and a checkmark will appear next to "Agenda/topic" in the class settings menu.
- You can edit the topic navigating the same class settings section and selecting "Agenda/topic".
Adding homeassignment to a class in the Mobile Journal¶
To add homeassignment to a class in the Mobile Journal, you need to:
- Tap the settings icon ⚙️ next to the class date.
- Select "Assignment" from the list.
- Fill in the homeassignment form.
- If necessary, add a file to the assignment. The app will offer to upload an image/document from the smartphone storage or instantly take a photo of a document.
- Fill in all required fields: assignment due date, whether the assignment requires manual checking, and if necessary add pre-added quiz.
- Tap "Submit".
- After saving the assignment, the "Homework" label will appear under the class date, and a checkmark will appear next to "Assignment" in the class settings list in the menu.
- The teacher will receive push notifications on their smartphone when students’ completed homework assignments are uploaded.
Adding an online link to a class in the Mobile Journal¶
To add an online class link in the Mobile Journal, you need to:
1. Tap the settings icon ⚙️ next to the class date.
2. Select "Online Class" from the list.
3. Fill in the URL link field for the online class.
4. Tap "Submit".
5. After saving the link, the "Online" label will appear under the class date, and the "Join" option will appear in the class settings menu.
6. To join the online class, you need to configure Zoom integration in the Profile settings.

Adding a New Class in the Mobile Journal¶
- Click the "+New Lesson" button under the student’s name.
- Fill out the form to add a new class:
- class date;
- class index (hours according to the schedule);
- change the grading system if necessary. - Click "Submit".
Deleting a class from the Mobile Journal¶
There is an option to delete a class from the mobile journal.
- Click on the ⚙️ settings icon next to the class date.
- Select "Delete Class" from the list.
Ensure that there are no previous attendance records or grades for the class, otherwise the system will not allow deletion of such a class. - Confirm the action by clicking "Yes".
Adding a Column to a Class in the Mobile Journal¶
To add a new column to a lesson, you need to:
- Click the "New Grade" button under the default cell.
- Confirm the action by clicking "Yes".
- A new cell will be added under the existing one.
Setting the Grading System for a Class in the Mobile Journal¶
The grading system for a class is inherited from the schedule and section settings.
However, it can be changed for a specific class in the Journal.
To do this:
- Click on the ⚙️ settings icon next to the class date.
- Select "Grading System" from the list.
- Choose the required grading system from the dropdown list.
- Click "Submit".
To view class information, click ⚙️ next to the class date and select "Class Info" from the dropdown list.
Assigning Grades for a Class in the Mobile Journal¶
In the mobile journal cells, you can mark attendance or select a class participation type and grade it for each student.
To mark attendance for a class, click on an empty cell. A list of attendance types will appear. Select the required type of attendance and the corresponding mark will appear in the cell.
To assign a grade to a student, simply enter the grade into the empty cell next to the class participation type under the class date.
Adding Tags to a Class in the Mobile Journal¶
You can add tags to a class in the mobile journal.
To do this:
- Click on the ⚙️ settings icon next to the grade cell.
- Click "Tags".

Select previously created tags from the dropdown list.

Click "Submit".
- The tag will appear below the grade type.
Adding a Comment to a Student’s Grade in the Mobile Journal¶
To add a comment to a student’s grade, you need to:
- Click on the ⚙️ settings icon next to the grade cell.
- Select "Add Comment" from the dropdown list.
- Fill in the comment field and choose a background color for the cell.
- Click "Submit".
- The cell with the comment will be displayed with the selected color.
Selecting a Grade Type for a Class in the Mobile Journal¶
"Class Participation" is a defaul grade type for a class, and each new column added to the class in the journal is created with this grade type.
However, this grade type can be changed.
To select a grade type for a class, you need to:
- Click on the ⚙️ settings icon next to the default "Class Participation" grade type and click the dropdown list under the "Grade Type" header.
- Select the required grade type from the proposed list.
- The grade type for the class placed next to the cell will be automatically changed and become available for grading.
The default value for the grade type can be changed by the Administrator in the "Settings" section of the school.
Actions and Search option in the Mobile Journal¶
You can view the list of actions in the mobile journal by clicking the "Actions" button in the top right corner of the page near the Search field.
"Chat" – creates a video chat for the class.
After clicking this option and granting app permissions to the device camera and microphone, a video chat will be created, where the teacher and all students automatically become participants.
To join the video chat, click "Join" after the chat is created.
"Zoom Conference" – creates a Zoom conference for the class.
To do this, you need to integrate your Zoom account with the app in the "Profile Settings" section under "Services".

"Export to PDF/CSV" – downloads the mobile journal in a spreadsheet or PDF-document format to the device.
Add Class – allows adding a class with a new date that was not assigned by the schedule.
You need to fill in the Class Date, Class Index, and select the required grading system if the default one does not fit.
Search – a field that allows quickly finding a student or class grade type by typing a combination of first few symbols of the searched word.
The search results are highlighted in yellow.
